The Senior Men's Club of New Canaan, Connecticut, welcomes men 55 and older who reside, or own property in, New Canaan, CT. Founded in 1977, the SMC is affiliated with the New Canaan YMCA, but individual Y membership is not necessary. SMC membership applications are available here, at the YMCA on South Avenue or at our Friday 10 a.m. meetings at Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church on Oenoke Ridge. Each weekly meeting features local, state and nationally known speakers. Visit the links below for the many additional activities of our SMC members. Members are reminded that Getabout Van service is available to you. Just call Getabout at 203-972-7433 one day in advance, and sign up to travel with the others enjoying this service. Getabout asks a donation of $3 each way but does not require it. You can even arrange to be driven from the meeting to lunch or shopping downtown and taken home after that. |
E. Michael O'Malley will speak to us about how SCORE helps businessmen with their challenges, using the services of retired executives as mentors and consultants. He will address how SCORE is expanding its menu of services, to be more effective in the four hundred communities where there are SCORE Chapters. A resident of the Westport/Weston area, Mr. O'Malley retired 15 years ago after a 40 year career in the fashion Industry. For the last three several years he had been the Chair of the award winning Fairfield County Chapter of SCORE.
