| Feb. 14, 2012 | Tuesday | Valentine's Day! We will go to the CIA and eat in the Italian restaurant, Caterina de Medici, this year. Plans have not yet been confirmed, but rather than taking the tour as we have done many times in the past we might take a short tour of the Indian Point power plant on the way. The price will be $65, and departure time depends on whether we go to Indian Point or not. Listen at the meetings or check the website for final information. | Mar. 15, 2012 | Thursday | Annual trip to NY Philharmonic open rehearsal. David Zinman, music director of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, will conduct Beethoven Symphonies No. 1 and No. 3 ("Eroica"), with Gil Shaham soloist in Karl Hartman's Concerto for Violin and String Orchestra. We will bus a few blocks to Bello's at 56th and 9th for lunch (Josephina's has closed).
